Paramount Motors, the sole authorised distributor of MG Motor in Nepal, has launched the MG Comet EV in the Nepalese market at a pricing of Rs 17.99 Lakh. The MG Comet EV will be available in two variants - Pace and Play, at a price of Rs 17.99 Lakh and Rs 20.99 Lakh, each, respectively.The two-door Comet EV is equipped with a Tata AutoComp-sourced 17.3 kWh battery pack with an ARAI-certified range of 230 km. The single electric motor of the Comet develops 31.26 kW (42 hp) and 110 Nm of torque. The vehicle offers three drive modes, namely Eco, Normal, and Sport. The top speed is rated at 100 kmph.The MG Comet EV which is based on the Wuling Air EV gets an illuminating MG logo in the middle and an extended full-width LED light bar which sits above it. The illuminating logo also serves as a charging port. The rear, too, gets full-width connecting lights. It measures under three meters in length (2,974mm), 1,640mm in height, and 1,505mm in width with a wheelbase of 2,010mm. The Comet rides on 12-inch alloy wheels.[nd_gallery images="38780,39101,39099,39102"]Inside, the Comet gets a two-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls. The dashboard also sports a dual-screen set-up that houses two floating 10.25-inch screens. Two horizontally positioned AC vents and rotary air conditioning controls with chrome highlights are placed right below the screen.
In terms of safety, the Comet EV gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, IP67 battery, rear parking camera, LED rear fog lamp, tyre pressure monitoring system, Manual Day/Night IRVM, ISOFIX child seat mounts and Seat belt reminder and three-point seatbelts for all four seats.
